The Luwian Goddess Darawa

The PN Kammalia-Tarawa in an Old Assyrian tablet seems to be the earliest reference of deity Darawa. Luwian background this is also apparent, e.g., from plural form DDa-ra-ú-wa-an-zi or those texts mentioned CTH 457 and etymological interpretation divine name verb tarāwi(ya)-. Since early Middle Hittite period Darawa found her way into Hattian milieu as a goddess connected with family life, she several times festivals for queen (CTH 646), but Prayer Sun-goddess Netherworld 371) which – my opinion only mentioning within “pantheon state”. Texts Hurrian Kizzuwatnaean (e.g., 351) refer Darawa, clearly result secondary marginal dissemination goddess. In conclusion one might say that came contact various milieus “Hittite pantheon”, functioning providing good (and evil) humans everyday life.
